Chatroom etiqette

well working a new blog at requests of chatzy friends, and yes this is dedicated to "Britt's room" crew, love you all. Follow @thejessicaszohr and @ImBrittanySnow and remember #JessicaSzohrTuesday and #BrittanySnowWednesday.

I think we demonstrated what not to do in a chatroom tonight, the name calling, the swearing, the devisiveness toward each other. What is purpose of a chatroom, think about that for a moment, let it percolate in your mind. Quite simply, to chat with people who are of similar minds, common interests and discussions about life. When we sink to cursing each other out, talkign about another's sexuality or perceived weakness in another person, what does that accomplish, really?

We have such an amazing opportunity to learn and enjoy what another person brings to the chatroom. People from a completely different walk of life. Never pass that up if you can help it. Resist the temptation to close your mind or go into the chat with preconceived notions of what you want to "accomplish" instead go with the flow of the chat and see what you can learn.

Don't attack a person's religion, sexual preference, their identity or them personally. That to me and most everyone else is crossing the line of good chat etiqette. If you don't agree so be it, but don't let it get between you and that person and make it personal. As that old saying goes, "Disagree without being disagreeable" applies here.

Seek what you can learn, what you can bring to the conversation and have fun with each other.

Chatzy:value of,hmmm

my latest blog will deal with the extremely serious topic of...wait for it...wait for it,haha..."chatzy." I have enjoyed the times that: @ImBrittanySnow and @thejessicaszohr have setup the chatzy rooms. I think there is alot of value to be found in having these rooms setup, as usual I will try to unpack this statement. This phrase I use alot, comes from my time at Columbia Bible College in South Carolina and professor wanted us to unpack or explain our statement or line of reasoning. So borrowed the phrase, like the image it conjures up, taking out the thoughts and putting them up or explaining them so everyone to understand.

Anyways, I think the chatzy rooms are good for us to chat and get to know people from literally around the world, what an amazing time we live in, to be able to converse with people in places we have never been to.

Secondly, the people there can connect us with other people of like minds or similar interests. We find a person who likes the same music or movies or books or even food and feel closer to someone for a moment. We may have never even met this person in real life, which is such a curious phrase, but we still can relate to them and know there are people out there that are the same as us.

Then there the chance to hang out with some of our favorite actresses in the whole world, two quality women who take time to chat and socialize with fans and answer their questions. Both @thejessicaszohr and @ImBrittanySnow really have a genuineness to them and are curious about their fans and friends. This sets a great example for the rest of us in not thinking we are above anyone else, but we should take time to get to know those who reach out to us also.

So see there is a true value to the "chatzy" rooms, beyond the obvious chat for those who enjoy chatting for chat sake. Connection, friends of similar interests and quality time with more well-known people. Think about that for a little bit and read the rests of my blogs. Thanks for taking time to read this.

what I have learned so far on twitter

What I have learned so far on twitter, is people are people all the world over, we might be in different locations geographically, but we live with the same concerns, worries and things that bring us joy. Love is something being strived for, and what all people are looking for, either through relationships on the internet or with people they see everyday.

Twitter brings us together and allows us to share a small peek into who we are, where we are and why we are. Let me unpack this statement for you all. Twitter of course only allows us to share 140 characters with the world of twitter, so we will probably never fully know anyone as much as we or they would like. But, it does give us a taste and opportunity to learn more. Where we are is both answered by where we are geographically in the world, and where we are experiencewise and lifewise. Why we are is a bit more complex, as far a question to answer. Sometimes we don't even know ourselves why we are as we are. Again twitter helps us see some of what a person is and if we want to know more we find out their email, phone number etc.

I also have learned that just as anywhere else, there are the good kind people who are there to get know other people, to reach out and get known. A few but complete list of people who fall into this category are: @ImBrittanySnow @TheMystifyer @BlakeLivelyy @IHilaryDuffI @OfficialBillie @lovenhappy @CarinaK @ChantellePaige @adventuregirl and list goes on, kinda most of people I follow on twitter.

There are also those who get their significance from posing as more well-known people and gain some self-worth from doing this. Now as angry as people get at them, and want them to stop, it will continue, that is just part of social network of twitter. Accept it and move on, those that pose as someone else will get caught, so don't make it your mission to expose those people, twitter will find them and expel them. Allow them the opportunity to do their job.

Life is lived on twitter and allows us opportunity to make new friends, use it to do that. Thanks for reading my blog :)

New season on tv so far

What I like so far about the new tv season, all the premieres and new shows. I enjoyed the show GossipGirl, with @IHilaryDuffI joining the show and also @tyrabanks doing a guest appearance, being kind of wacky and over the top actress. Think Hilary brings some added drama to a show filled with drama and intrigue. I as a guy like the show, and not just because of the beautiful @TheJessicaSzohr and @BlakeLivelyy. I like the way the show has gone and don't believe it has gotten a fair shake from the general public or promoted correctly by CW, CW is an average to below average company in regards to promoting it's shows. The Beautiful Life could have been an incredible show, with high potential, but CW pulled plug on show not giving the show a chance to build up a loyal fanbase. Hope my blog gets back to CW, need to fire it's promotion staff and get people who think way outside or blow up the box to reach new fans and people groups.

I really have like NCIS and NCIS LA, both shows can be truly great ones, on a channel that already has had alot of great shows ie. CSI, CSI Miami, CSI New York. The way the shows do crossovers helps bring new followers and new people groups. Take a look at this CW, maybe crossover between Gossip Girl and 90210, see way outside the box, and would help build up fan base between those who watch one show but not the other, making them curious about other show. Hmmm.

Basically, there is alot of shows with potential out there, but need a chance to build fan base and loyal watchers. Get right people working promotions. Gossip girl, 90210, and lots of shows on CW could dominate their time frames, but CW leaders sit satisfied to be 3rd or 4th in ratings, expecting they can never get better.

Favre and Jordan cut from same clothe

My latest blog is about the media's infatuation with both Brett Favre and Michael Jordan. This is being written on my views of both gentlemen.

First off, Brett Favre, his return, his retirements, and all the drama surrounding him. I mean he is a good quarterback, but last time I checked he has 1 Superbowl ring compared to my quarterback Ben Rothelisberger who in 5 yrs has 2. My problem with Favre centers around the fact his disrespect for his former teams, his disrespect for team he is currently with and the people who are in his corner. Let me unpack these statements. He claims that he is respectful for game, the history of the game, and all that. But, how does this show when he makes Green Bay, who I hate for reason they claim to be one of "America's Team" but that is another matter, anyway Favre disrespects the team that was in his corner for all those many years. He makes them wait on deciding if he is quitting or coming back and disrespects Rodgers his replacement by making him sit through drama of coming back or staying retired.

Then with both Jets and Vikings he again makes them wait and fit themselves into his schedule and way of doing things instead of respectign them and the team they are trying to put together. How is that showing respect for teams and game of football?!? Oh ok, it's not. Selfish and childish, but not respectful.

Now the spectacle of Favre returning to Green Bay to play them is reaching foolish proportions, he is playing his old team, big deal, players have returned to play former teams before. Never as selfishly and self-absorbed as Favre has done, but again big deal.

Now to Jordan, and @GreenyandGolic will hate me, as they have excused Jordan as "Jordan being Jordan" ok, how is being a jerk to former players, opponents and coaches being classy and excusable? Again, oh wait it isn't, Jordan is "ambassador" for the game, but why would you want a classless jerk to represent you to the world. May go back to world's mentality of excusing anything as long as it views you as talented. He is talented, but if you have to have a whole set of rules made up to help you succeed, just how talented and successful are you really? hmmm. Told you that you media types and lovers of Jordan and Favre will probably not like me or what I have to say.

Jordan's missteps are excused as long as people stay in love with him. As is Favre's but what example are we sending to our children and younger impressionable minds, not a good one, to answer my own question. Thank you for reading.
