Glee a surprisingly good show

Friday and Saturday, spent the free time watching "Glee" was pleasantly surprised. Been hearing great things about the show and decided to see what the talk was about. Had seen a fairly stunning statistic that the show had been capturing a fair number of people in the 18-49 graphic range. Not unusual to get that 18-30 or 25-35 range but to have such an overlap is very unusual.

With that preface, I delve into my blog, haha. I liked the dynamic of the show blending or "mashing" as they called it on the show, of songs from 70-80's and new songs into a beautiful combination. Had heard the glee club had sung a incredible version of "Don't Stop Believing" and saw it and it was beautifully done.

I also like the diversity of the group as a whole, jocks and cheerleaders mingling with less popular, alternative life style guy mingling with minorities. Each taking the time to reach out and really becoming a group that depends on each other and showing genuine respect for one another.

The leader of the group realizes that bringing a group together as diverse as this is potentially a whole lot of trouble and dangerous but has incredible upside as well.

So, there is drama, there is a group coming together that by the world's standards has no right to work together and people hoping, just as in real life, that the team will fall apart and not be able to succeed. Sound familiar?!? To me it sounds like alot of life in general, got drama, us succeeding together and the haters who hope we fail and sink to their level, so check out the show, sing along and cheer for a show that is fairly good look at life and learn the life lessons that are there for us to see as we watch n sing.

Chatroom etiqette

well working a new blog at requests of chatzy friends, and yes this is dedicated to "Britt's room" crew, love you all. Follow @thejessicaszohr and @ImBrittanySnow and remember #JessicaSzohrTuesday and #BrittanySnowWednesday.

I think we demonstrated what not to do in a chatroom tonight, the name calling, the swearing, the devisiveness toward each other. What is purpose of a chatroom, think about that for a moment, let it percolate in your mind. Quite simply, to chat with people who are of similar minds, common interests and discussions about life. When we sink to cursing each other out, talkign about another's sexuality or perceived weakness in another person, what does that accomplish, really?

We have such an amazing opportunity to learn and enjoy what another person brings to the chatroom. People from a completely different walk of life. Never pass that up if you can help it. Resist the temptation to close your mind or go into the chat with preconceived notions of what you want to "accomplish" instead go with the flow of the chat and see what you can learn.

Don't attack a person's religion, sexual preference, their identity or them personally. That to me and most everyone else is crossing the line of good chat etiqette. If you don't agree so be it, but don't let it get between you and that person and make it personal. As that old saying goes, "Disagree without being disagreeable" applies here.

Seek what you can learn, what you can bring to the conversation and have fun with each other.

Chatzy:value of,hmmm

my latest blog will deal with the extremely serious topic of...wait for it...wait for it,haha..."chatzy." I have enjoyed the times that: @ImBrittanySnow and @thejessicaszohr have setup the chatzy rooms. I think there is alot of value to be found in having these rooms setup, as usual I will try to unpack this statement. This phrase I use alot, comes from my time at Columbia Bible College in South Carolina and professor wanted us to unpack or explain our statement or line of reasoning. So borrowed the phrase, like the image it conjures up, taking out the thoughts and putting them up or explaining them so everyone to understand.

Anyways, I think the chatzy rooms are good for us to chat and get to know people from literally around the world, what an amazing time we live in, to be able to converse with people in places we have never been to.

Secondly, the people there can connect us with other people of like minds or similar interests. We find a person who likes the same music or movies or books or even food and feel closer to someone for a moment. We may have never even met this person in real life, which is such a curious phrase, but we still can relate to them and know there are people out there that are the same as us.

Then there the chance to hang out with some of our favorite actresses in the whole world, two quality women who take time to chat and socialize with fans and answer their questions. Both @thejessicaszohr and @ImBrittanySnow really have a genuineness to them and are curious about their fans and friends. This sets a great example for the rest of us in not thinking we are above anyone else, but we should take time to get to know those who reach out to us also.

So see there is a true value to the "chatzy" rooms, beyond the obvious chat for those who enjoy chatting for chat sake. Connection, friends of similar interests and quality time with more well-known people. Think about that for a little bit and read the rests of my blogs. Thanks for taking time to read this.

what I have learned so far on twitter

What I have learned so far on twitter, is people are people all the world over, we might be in different locations geographically, but we live with the same concerns, worries and things that bring us joy. Love is something being strived for, and what all people are looking for, either through relationships on the internet or with people they see everyday.

Twitter brings us together and allows us to share a small peek into who we are, where we are and why we are. Let me unpack this statement for you all. Twitter of course only allows us to share 140 characters with the world of twitter, so we will probably never fully know anyone as much as we or they would like. But, it does give us a taste and opportunity to learn more. Where we are is both answered by where we are geographically in the world, and where we are experiencewise and lifewise. Why we are is a bit more complex, as far a question to answer. Sometimes we don't even know ourselves why we are as we are. Again twitter helps us see some of what a person is and if we want to know more we find out their email, phone number etc.

I also have learned that just as anywhere else, there are the good kind people who are there to get know other people, to reach out and get known. A few but complete list of people who fall into this category are: @ImBrittanySnow @TheMystifyer @BlakeLivelyy @IHilaryDuffI @OfficialBillie @lovenhappy @CarinaK @ChantellePaige @adventuregirl and list goes on, kinda most of people I follow on twitter.

There are also those who get their significance from posing as more well-known people and gain some self-worth from doing this. Now as angry as people get at them, and want them to stop, it will continue, that is just part of social network of twitter. Accept it and move on, those that pose as someone else will get caught, so don't make it your mission to expose those people, twitter will find them and expel them. Allow them the opportunity to do their job.

Life is lived on twitter and allows us opportunity to make new friends, use it to do that. Thanks for reading my blog :)

New season on tv so far

What I like so far about the new tv season, all the premieres and new shows. I enjoyed the show GossipGirl, with @IHilaryDuffI joining the show and also @tyrabanks doing a guest appearance, being kind of wacky and over the top actress. Think Hilary brings some added drama to a show filled with drama and intrigue. I as a guy like the show, and not just because of the beautiful @TheJessicaSzohr and @BlakeLivelyy. I like the way the show has gone and don't believe it has gotten a fair shake from the general public or promoted correctly by CW, CW is an average to below average company in regards to promoting it's shows. The Beautiful Life could have been an incredible show, with high potential, but CW pulled plug on show not giving the show a chance to build up a loyal fanbase. Hope my blog gets back to CW, need to fire it's promotion staff and get people who think way outside or blow up the box to reach new fans and people groups.

I really have like NCIS and NCIS LA, both shows can be truly great ones, on a channel that already has had alot of great shows ie. CSI, CSI Miami, CSI New York. The way the shows do crossovers helps bring new followers and new people groups. Take a look at this CW, maybe crossover between Gossip Girl and 90210, see way outside the box, and would help build up fan base between those who watch one show but not the other, making them curious about other show. Hmmm.

Basically, there is alot of shows with potential out there, but need a chance to build fan base and loyal watchers. Get right people working promotions. Gossip girl, 90210, and lots of shows on CW could dominate their time frames, but CW leaders sit satisfied to be 3rd or 4th in ratings, expecting they can never get better.

Favre and Jordan cut from same clothe

My latest blog is about the media's infatuation with both Brett Favre and Michael Jordan. This is being written on my views of both gentlemen.

First off, Brett Favre, his return, his retirements, and all the drama surrounding him. I mean he is a good quarterback, but last time I checked he has 1 Superbowl ring compared to my quarterback Ben Rothelisberger who in 5 yrs has 2. My problem with Favre centers around the fact his disrespect for his former teams, his disrespect for team he is currently with and the people who are in his corner. Let me unpack these statements. He claims that he is respectful for game, the history of the game, and all that. But, how does this show when he makes Green Bay, who I hate for reason they claim to be one of "America's Team" but that is another matter, anyway Favre disrespects the team that was in his corner for all those many years. He makes them wait on deciding if he is quitting or coming back and disrespects Rodgers his replacement by making him sit through drama of coming back or staying retired.

Then with both Jets and Vikings he again makes them wait and fit themselves into his schedule and way of doing things instead of respectign them and the team they are trying to put together. How is that showing respect for teams and game of football?!? Oh ok, it's not. Selfish and childish, but not respectful.

Now the spectacle of Favre returning to Green Bay to play them is reaching foolish proportions, he is playing his old team, big deal, players have returned to play former teams before. Never as selfishly and self-absorbed as Favre has done, but again big deal.

Now to Jordan, and @GreenyandGolic will hate me, as they have excused Jordan as "Jordan being Jordan" ok, how is being a jerk to former players, opponents and coaches being classy and excusable? Again, oh wait it isn't, Jordan is "ambassador" for the game, but why would you want a classless jerk to represent you to the world. May go back to world's mentality of excusing anything as long as it views you as talented. He is talented, but if you have to have a whole set of rules made up to help you succeed, just how talented and successful are you really? hmmm. Told you that you media types and lovers of Jordan and Favre will probably not like me or what I have to say.

Jordan's missteps are excused as long as people stay in love with him. As is Favre's but what example are we sending to our children and younger impressionable minds, not a good one, to answer my own question. Thank you for reading.

Purpose of Church part 2

There has been continued interest in purpose of church, so here's part 2. This evolved out of a discussion I have been having with a girl at bus stop. To bring it into context and where it came from.

Told her a few days ago that church is also a place to learn useful character qualities such as the "Fruit of the Spirit" found in Galatians 5:22. Those are: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Again, simple looking list, but incredibly difficult to actually implement into my life.

Church also is a place to grow as a person with people that believe similarly to me, growing in knowledge and sharing that with others.

Similarly to last reason is, gaining knowledge from my pastor's message and then go and share with world around me.

Learn knowledge about Bible and help mentor those younger in the faith as they grow toward the image of Christ.

In sharing God and His Love, be a beacon of hope to a world largely without Hope.

Purpose of Church

I was asked an interesting question yesterday. It was what is the purpose of church? Interestingly it wasn't asked like person who hated church or was against church as I have been asked before. It was just an honest open curiosity of what church was all about. So let me unpack a bit what I view as the purpose of church is to myself and society.

To me church is valuable for a few reasons. The first being that church brings me closer to the God I worship, yes can worship God elsewhere, that is a given. There is just something about being with 3000 fellow believers who are there for same purpose, though. So please don't draw that I am saying you can only find God in a church or that is whole purpose of my blog, only saying for me, I am drawn even closer being around people of same mind-set and purpose than if I was off alone. Sort of a strength of numbers mindset.

Church is also a sorely needed moral-berometer for me, let me unpack that statement. I look around and see so much wrong and wrong being done in name of good and called good. The church I go to, Houston's First Baptist Church or @Houstonsfirst on twitter, challenges the mind-set and behavior of society not sugar-coating wrong or evil because it would be convenient to do so. Instead the church holds up perfection, which is God's very character as what we as Christians should strive for. Our church's worldview is this: "Relevant Biblical Community" Which I will expand on in a moment.

Will try to explain what a worldview is, which actually is fairly easy to understand when you consider it, a worldview is, how you as a person view the world around you and what you believe in regards to the world. So if you unpack our church's worldview the first word is "Relevant" which means that you have a bearing or connection with issue at hand. So too often, the world with good reason, says the church is irrelevant. so being relevant is an important area for church to explore and understand the importance for them to accomplish.

Next in my church's worldview, motto or mission statement as it were is "Biblical" That simply defined is relying on the fact the Bible is true, reliable and can be trusted to live your life by. That being said, at our church it becomes what we base our life on, the Bible is true and the Christ found in it is true. Think about that for a moment. That is a huge step of faith, which putting our trust in the unknown, the unseen and to the world around is scientifically unverifiable. But, truly that is another issue for another blog. My point for this blog being, living our life by what we believe is true, the Bible should be reflected to those around us and in our worldview.

Finally, in the mission statement is "Community" That sounds so easy or the easiest to accomplish of those threee words. Kind of a given, almost. Probably the hardest when we think about what community truly is. Community is family life, at the most simplest definition. This is what makes it so darn difficult to live out, I don't know about you all, but sometimes my family is very difficult to live around, be around or like at all. Yet we are called to not only love them but like them too. Huge. Christian when the word was coined 1000's of years ago, was an insult, saying they were "little Christ's" but that truly what we are to be to the world around us and even more so to our fellow followers of Christ. What kind of statement are we making if we don't love and like those that we claim to be alongside in following the God who is Love?!?

So to answer the question of what church is, to me is a place to be real, to be alongside people who believe the same things I do, trying to live out the call God has put on my life, to be there to help and be helped as we go along life's difficult hard journey. A place where we can be refreshed and get our bearing to go the way God has called us to walk along. A place of preparation to be there with people who may not be as experienced as us or much farther along then we are, sort of gearing up to go to war. Then going out to war for the week and come back and be received by fellow warriors and bind our wounds together to fight another battle.

continued inspiration sources

Hmmm,
where to begin, at the beginning, I know logical of me, haha. I draw a great deal of inspiration from my family, particularly my dad, he has gone through plenty both from personal stuff with me and brother and sister, and professionally. He lost his job and didn't get one for like a yr, quite a few yrs ago. Yey, even in his darkest hours, never gave up, never thought well might as well quit. He said he had like 3000 resumes out there and countless fruitless interviews, yet kept on. Personally he helped me with a drinking problem, despite numerous setbacks, never gave up on me. One of his mottos is, get knocked down, that's ok and to be expected in this life, but don't stay down.

I also get some of that inspiration as stated before from @louiegiglio , let me unpack a bit of who he is, he is a speaker who primarily is drawn to speak to college age listeners. He has started what is called the "268 Generation" based on Isaiah26:8 "Yes Lord, Walking in Your Ways, we wait for You. For Your Name and Renown are the desire of our hearts." People that are connected with him on here are @ChrisTomlinBand @charliehallband @Crowderband . Check him and all people connected to "Passion movement" are all about.

Another person to unpack who he is, is mr @JohnPiper , now bit of forewarning is needed. DO NOT leave ur brain at the door if you listen or read his work or to him. He is brilliant so bring the brain and learn alot. He is also connected to 268Generation but also speaks to anyone who is open to listening. Look up his name, get his books and take your time reading and understanding.

Next on my list to share a bit about is @RaviZacharias , he is a former Hindu, who does apologetics, which means he defends the Bible from all doubters by sharing what makes Bible authentic and believable. Extremely brilliant, yet makes his speeches and writings understandable to the average reader or listener.

@RickWarren has written a book almost everyone has read or heard about, "The Purpose-Driven Life" has written a follow up to it that comes out Nov17th, called "the Hope You Need" it deals with the Lord's Prayer. Definitely check both of those books out.

Finally on the big stage front is my pastor, guy who's birthday is 4 days apart from mine, he leads a church: @Houstonsfirst that is just under 25,000 members, but doesn't feel that is as important as being a "relevant Biblical community" Anyway he replaced a guy who was at church for 30 yrs, and has won both older and younger church members hearts as he slowly helps us toward the image of God, His name is @GreggMatte an amazign pastor.

Then there are all those people who are living the life they are called to, whether it's one of being well-known or toiling in obscurity. first the less-known, but ultimately just as important in their lives and what they do. I'm talking about the teachers, firemen, policemen and any of those people who go about their work, handle their business and don't expect or desire fame or recognition in what they do. Thank you to all of you who are out there doing thankless jobs and doing them well. Without you, life will be more difficult or impossible.

Next is the more well known individuals who are actually more interested in helping others than promoting themselves. So obviously this list CANNOT include Kanye West, who I will unpack a bit here. Let's think a bit on him, hmmm. He chooses, drunk or not, to hurt two people at a time when they should be happy. Now I'm not a fan of award shows, bore me, even if there are people on there I like and respect, just not my thing. Yet, was severely disappointed in KW's actions against @taylorswift13 , she is half his age yet he bullies her and discredits her win by dragging ms. Beyonce in to arguement. Basically forcing Beyonce to apologize and help Taylor by using her time to accept her award time to let Taylor reaccept hers. now I applaude Beyonce and Taylor's graciousness in all the drama. There several great well-known people on twitter to follow and who interact with fans and followers. These are people folks, not gods or anything above us, treat them as people, don't constantly pester them when they give off signals they are busy or doing something else.

I draw inspiration from those who treat others as well as they want to be treated or even better in most cases then they expect to be treated. Those that are the encouragers the ones who pick you from up off the ground. Be one of those people, be the change our country so desperately needs, it's not going to be the politicians who change the world, they don't truly understand what needs to be accomplished, or how to accomplish it, sorry if it steps on toes, but it is the way I view the political world, seems that those individuals have forgotten wgo they serve, that they are here to be the greatest country's in the world leaders in following in our forefather's footsteps. Not wander off on their own way. I say all this to say, we the people, see that, WE THE PEOPLE, are being called to be the daily difference and the change makers that we so desperately are looking for.

Inspiration can come from the most unexpected sources, so don't close yourself off from anyone on first glance, just because they are not exactly like you or what you are used to. Learn what you can and keep pressing forward.

Life in general

Just a quick blog, nothing major,like usual,lol.

I saw some interesting things today at McDonald's, was kinda hanging out and eating, watching what was going on with people coming in and out. Anyway, the first thing that stood out, was a lady asking about a lady who was homeless and leaving her a giftcard to help her out. to me that was just so neat, to take time out of her schedule, to care about a lady who probably is forgotten by alot of us. That would have been enough to make my day and make me smile the rest of the day, but there was more...

Then a group of young women came in, in their long flowing black gowns. And their musical instruments and their rolling suitcases. Right behind them were a crew of bout 15 skateboarders carrying their boards. The young ladies ordered and were wondering out loud, how they would be able to continue on down to the music hall about 10 blocks farther down, carrying everything they were already had and the food. The guys must have been paying attn, because they volunteered along with about 5 homeless people to help out. What a sight, of all them marching out and down the sidewalk, and people say there's nothing good and kind out there. Ha!!!

All from the land of McDonald's....

Thoughts on college football season

My thoughts on college football, as season has barely begun, now Oklahoma has the slimmest chance at national championship, Texas fans ur team played nobody and destroyed em, so essentially meaningless, no Colt isn't going to get championship or Heisman, sorry. Tebow and crew beat a nobody too, go get some real competition and then maybe earn right to talk. So no heisman for him either. Yes people Ok St is for real, with good quarterback and amazing wide receiver. Dez got blanketed for awhile but ultimately u cannot hold him down he's going to get his.

Penn St looked ok, Ohio St struggled but that against a very strong Navy team, so no worries for them, I think it's a good wake up call, fully expect Terrelle Pryor to be in Heisman hunt at end of season, yes I said it, so no for colt, tim or sam, my people in running for Heisman are Pryor, Snead:despite his struggle for game, a real talent. Jahvid Best is another I expect to be in thick of things, alongside Julio Jones, and some darkhorse I haven't seen yet.

My Florida State Seminoles are an interesting case study, offense is getting a lil better, with Christian Ponder back at QB, but rest of offense has some question marks, wide receivers need to step up, and running backs are not quite at right level to compete yet. Defensively we are at a high level, imagine if they had Myron Rolle, the premiere defensive back, bar none, he would have been a serious challenger for Heisman, yes he's that good.

All this to say, all those "contenders" for national championship, have not faced anything yet, so get over urselves. Long road to title, hang on it's a bumpy road. Go Noles

"All You need to know You learned in Kindergarten"

"All you really need to know you learned in kindergarten" is an incredible list, here it is: 1)Share everything 2)play fair 3)Don't hit people 4)Put things back where you found them 5)Clean up your own mess 6)Don't take things that aren't yours 7)Say you're sorry when you hurt someone 8)Wash your hands before you eat 9)Flush 10)Warm cookies and cold milk are good for you 11)Live a balanced life-learn some and think someand draw and paintand dance and play and work every day some 12)Take a nap every afternoon 13)When you go out in the world, watch out for traffic, hold hands and stick together 14)Be aware of wonder.Remember the lil seed in the Styrofoam cup: the roots go down and the plant comes up and nobody really knows why or how, but we are all like that. 15) goldfish and hamsters and white mice and even the little seed in the Styrofoam cup-they all die. So do we. 16)And then remember the Dick and Jane books and the first word you learned-the biggest word of all-look.

That is still a favorite list and something that makes me smile everytime I hear it or think of it. Simple yet, very profoundly so. Think on it, and then apply where you see fit. Kind of fits everywhere in our lives, doesn't it.

Football Season

Are you ready for some football?!? As I have said before, I love football season, particularly college football, partly because I get to chat with some very knowledgeable people such as, @bolanile, follow her, she is very smart both footballwise and in life. Kind of lil #twittercrush going on.

The reason I like college football, is it's a more pure, less bout money more bout the competition than the NFL. My favorite teams are Florida St. Seminoles and USC Trojans, though if FSU isn't playing Florida or Miami, will pull for both teams.

NFL wise i'm a Pittsburgh Steelers fan and will not waver in my allegiance, especially this season, with the "experts" all picking against them, bah, experts come and go, but Steeler excellence stays the same. Yes u can use that line if you want.

Also pull for the Houston Texans, gotta pull for hometown team, think they are another team that could "surprise" the "experts" and do really well this season. They are kinda a young version of Steelers with some solid defense line and picking up some good linebackers.

more of favs

There is lots of more of my likes that I have thought of, as far as type of people I like or am attrached to, it's those that have a goal, that seek to be better than they are. Those that are not settling for what the world offers, but keeps on going, a focus that doesn't waver or get distracted.

I also enjoy being around intelligent people, who know more about an area of expertise than me, that I can learn from. and share what I know about another area, I know about. Intelligence is sexy, it shows you are serious about yourself and being the best you can be.

More movies I enjoy are We are Marshall, Three Musketeers, Runaway Jury, both Transformers, Star Trek both older and the new one, Iron Man, Time to Kill, Drumline, Jet Li movies, anything with John Malkovich in it, Denzel's movies, Morgan Freeman's specifically Glory. umm Cruel Intentions, The Skulls:all three. Office Space. U get the picture.

More music I like is @charliehallband , David Crowder who has twitter acct, but can't think of his name on here. Jojo, Queensryche, Dokken.Dream Theater, @EmilyOsment , Caedmon's Call, the whole group from "Passion" the "268 Generation" Sugarland, Garth Brooks.

so my interests are kind of all over the place, but figure it's better to be open to all types of people and styles than limit myself or prejudice myself on what I have found on my own.

Favorite musical groups etc

Kind of continuing on favorites, musically I like Dave Matthews Band, see u all can get a copy of him in Central Park and u will understand why. Such a combination of jam rock with a strong jazz influence, Van Halen; Eddie and co are such an amazing group musically, Taylor Swift who I love for her ability to make music fun again w/o lowering her standards to be slutty like a certain age group ahead of her, yes talking to u Brit and Christina, to get u into her music and enjoy herself as she performs. ZZ Top, Queensryche:get Operation Mindcrime and see a rock opera in action. Metallica, Miley, @ChrisTomlinBand @mattredman and a few others, probably could list a million, depends on my mood. oh another is @ChantellePaige , love her voice so pure and another is @CarinaK definitely check her out.

Books I read are by James Patterson, James Rollins, Tom Clancy, Vince Flynn, David Baldacci, Max Lucado, @JohnPiper @RickWarren @louiegiglio :watch his "Laminin" video on youtube, incredible. Ravi Zacharias, C.S. Lewis, again forgotten some. Oh Beth Moore, read her books and see if u can get a vidoe of her, from Living Proof Ministries, incredible speaker.

College teams I like are Florida St. Seminoles, Miami Hurricanes, Florida Gators, UCLA basketball USC football. Will continue to add what I like as I as I think of it.

Likes and dislikes

I was asked bout some of my likes and dislikes, so here goes....
Some of my likes, important to start with positives, anyone can state dislikes, but seeing positive makes a major difference in my life. I like sports, playing them and watching them, favorite pro teams are Pittsburgh Steelers, Penguins and Pirates, along with Denver Nuggets and NY Yankees. Like Phil Mickleson and Padraig Harrington, Michelle Wie, Paula Creamer, Morgan Pressel and Natalie Gulbis .

My favorite type of movie are action/drama, would watch "Lord of the Rings" trilogy over and over, such a powerful group of movies, Tombstone, Braveheart, A Few Good Men, Last of the Mohicans. Then comedywise anything with Seth Rogan and his crew, or Amanda Bynes in it. Enjoy @HilaryLDuff 's movies, for her fresh charming style she brings, also @RealEmRoberts style is great also. Another individual who always makes me smile and pull for her in her movies is @BrittanyASnow definitely check her out if you don't know her.

Favorite shows are NCIS, all the CSI's, House, Gossip Girl: an ex got me started on it, thanx alot ex,lol. Leverage, Dark Blue, Royal Pains, and couple others.

Favorite type of people are those that are real, genuine, purpose-driven, who lift up those around them instead of dragging them down to their level. Those who encourage and inspire people to be more than they already are, as stated before some of these are @RickWarren @JohnPiper @GreggMatte @louiegiglio these men bring such a powerful word to those who will listen.

My list of dislikes is fairly short, mainly cause it is so much less enjoyable, and not called to live in the negative and dwell there. I dislike the fake or untrue, probably because I used to try and impress those around me with what in reality I'm not. So, enjoy those that are real and true to themselves, even if it isn't as "pretty or attractive" as you think the world wants or is looking for. If you're not true to yourself, then who can you be true to? Just a thought. People constantly ask my opinion of the "fakes or posers" on twitter, my thought is this: if the people need or desire to be seen as someone or something else, then it is on them. Don't try to change them or show they are fake, let the twitter police get them, or change on their own. I have been called a fake, my question is what am I a fake of? someone said Corbin Bleu, but why would he make a new acct, and put someone completely unknown as pic, lol. That's all I did laughed out loud, just found it so funny. Life is just too short to dwell on all that is wrong in this world. Get over the fact that life is unfair, cause it is, so move on.

Moving on, suppose another dislike is people writing others off because of preconceived notions, I try to give everyone a chance, cause have idea of what I will learn from that person. There are so many amazing people on twitter, that I have learned from, take time to see what a person brings to the table, and then if you don't like it or disagree then move on. At least you have taken time to see if you can learn from them.

That's some of my likes and dislikes, to answer some of the questions, more blogs to come.

What inspires me

Hmm where to begin, this will be pretty random. for that I apologize. What inspires me can be anything from a quote to a story of a person's courage to continue on despite the impossible odds. One story, may not be true, but the truth behind it is still there. It is called "40 Wrestlers" google it, read it. Set in times of Nero, it inspires you on. http://www.ntwrestle.com/default.asp?ACTION=DOC&ID=169&SUBID=135 ,or just go here, will do hard work for you ;) . Continuing on.

John Wooden is a major inspiration, the man lives what he speaks, a rare quality, "Be more concerned with your character than your reputation, because your character is what you really are, while your reputation is merely what others think you are" Wow, think on that a moment. Wooden took his teams to championship after championship and then continued helping others by his mere presence by the court. "Failure is not fatal, but failure to change might be"

Rick Warren, author of "The Purpose-Driven Life" is another inspiration, picking people up and helping them toward the image of the God he serves. He speaks at his church Saddleback, in very casual down to earth manner that people of all walks of life relate to. Follow him on twitter, he will challenge u to becoming more like Christ.

Louie Giglio is another person, that I have seen 2 times live, speaks primarily to college age students, in what is called "Passion conferences" the "268 Generation" listen to him online about subject called Laminin. Holy wow.

John Piper will inspire and challenge you, to be more than you are. speaker, author and life changer.

I'm inspired also by those people around me, those that live life, continue on, despite overwhelming odds. Those that face the decision of pay for rent or buy food for the family. Those that take 2nd and 3rd jobs to stay alive literally. Those people are around us, if we take time to look, look remember that it could be you, thank God that He hasn't called you to that challenge and continue to help where you can. Again the blog was kind of random, but hope you got general idea of somethings that inspire me, to be more than I already am.

Twitterworld

Alrighty folks writing again, wowser two blogs in one day. you all inspired me, what can I say. First some shoutouts are in order, with a preface, every person I blog about deserves for one reason or another to be followed. So I recommend them at the highest level. That being said, shoutouts to first group of people. @RyanLilBit a fellow backer of the Black and Gold, go Steelers, @GheaArdy a friend from far away, but the guy reaches out and follows you and gets followers for you. next is the amazing the lovely, @OfficialBillie , may some outrageous things but underneath beats a heart of gold, she helps you get followers, and has lots to say.

I enjoy seeing the interaction between people on here, it's not as important that we may not have ever met, but our common interest and desire to find similarly minded people is the bridge for us. @stephtrapp helps all she comes into contact with to find new friends who like the same things.

Then there's the well-known people who brighten your day for a variety of reasons, first up is fellow Houstonian ms. @HilaryLDuff who talks and chats with fans, brings fun quizzes that she uses to decide which fan she will follow. She doesn't talk down to you, but makes you feel like you are right there with her sitting next to her just hanging out. A rare quality in any person, but being well-known makes it even more special. Another well-known person who has lots to say to her followers and answers questions all around. @RealEmRoberts reaches out to you and answers back, she throws out the random like "just saw my neutrogena commercial" and makes you aware of what's going on in her life. She posts fun pics of her and her lil sis, of her and friends, gives nice little glimpses into who she is, beyond the fame. Two women to follow, they are the quality people we should all aspire to be.

Next comes two people in their own category, first is @Volturi_Jane , she is a writer and reads her work on line to us who follow and it's very well written material. Follow her and see some well thought out writing. Another unique young woman is @IAMtaylormomsen , she plays "Jenny" on Gossip Girl, has opinions that she will share, but in those opinions are a level of accuracy that is scary, because of the truth there. She is not on twitter nearly as much as I would like, nor does she follow me the way I would like, working on that, lol, but when she is on she speaks her mind and shares a very real picture of where she's at. also a lead singer of The Pretty Reckless.

Next group is a unique group of women, those of the LFL, who play football and know the game extremely well. These are: @SkylarVanel @LFLRandiiiLee @NikkiMarieLFL . Skylar is my fav, for two reasons, she started following me first, and then took time to make me aware of the league itself and some of other LFL'ers to follow. These women are very beautiful, and would be easy to dismiss as that's all there is to them, but it's interesting to listen to them, their interaction among themselves and their fans, they are extremely intelligent and thoughtful in all they have to say. so for this group I say don't write em off for their looks or think it's all they bring to the table. Also among this group is @Bolanile another LFL'er, was listening to her talk to a guy about football, she knows more about football than most of us could ever dream about, and will talk to you about it if you want. Also gives you those fun glimpses into her life, for example out running with her friend late at night in NYC and the people she encountered along the way.

Last but not least is @ModelMandyLynn , former reality star and a model, funny and loves to take pics both of herself and things of interest around her home. She brings the fun to an already fun site, by playing DJ on occasion and throwing some great tunes to listen to on an application she uses to make her own playlist. Another well-known person that isn't satisfied with being extremely beautiful and only being known for that. She wants to help people out where she can, and brightens your day with her fun posts.

So that is some of the fun people I follow and enjoy to hear from and about. Again the list is not done and shoutouts not all complete. There are so many amazing individuals I follow, so if I haven't mentioned you, I will in coming blogs. Check out my list of peeps I follow, lots of interesting people who will enrich your life for a variety of reasons, don't miss out on them. Thanks for putting up with my rambling blog, just enjoy extolling the virtues of several interesting people.

Twitter and what I've learned on the site, so far

Well this is my initial blog, thanx to @BobbiBillard for guiding me to this ite, she is a favorite of mine to follow. You will get cynical and say yeah it's because she's excessively beautiful, but no that is not a complete view or reason. If you listen to her, really listen she is very intelligent and uses her being well-known for the purpose God created her for, to make this world a better place. She shares very relevant info, that can be used by anyone. so follow her and be amazed.

Onto what I have learned so far on twitter, it has been an interesting ride so far, yes a ride, I have learned that there are some really amazing people on there. Yes there are the haters, the ones who want to bring you and everyone around them down to their level in the mud. But the are those like @AlyssaMilano @EmilyOsment @CarinaK @adventuregirl @ BrittanyASnow @AshantiSDouglas @RyanAShecky @GDGOfficial and @ChrisTomlinBand that are there to counter the negativity with a positive life view, follow them, u will not be disappointed.

Continue the thoughts, there are the "fakes" and "posers" who as near as I can tell are on there to boost their egos and selves up. But, hey not going to hate on em, as TI says, "Live Your Life" and if that means living their life as someone else then let them, don't hate on them or talk bad about them, they will get caught on their own. don't make it your mission to out them, again, "Live Your Life."

I also learned that there are alot of diamonds in the rough, by this I mean, you never know who has amazing potential both as a friend and as a human. Don't write people off because of who they follow or what their background pic is. Or who they love, if it's @ddlovato or @serenagomez or the "Jo-Bros" then let them, it's their love. Learn what you can from them and apply accordingly. Similarly there are some amazingly wise people I follow that speak to our spirit, such as @RickWarren , pastor of Saddleback church, @JohnPiper an amazing pastor and writer, and my pastor @GreggMatte the pastor of Houston's First Baptist Church.

Where this going, is anyone's guess. I guess right now, is to say there is alot to twitter, more than seeing how many followers we can accumalate or get following us, it's a social network, to be used accordingly, reach out, give the shoutout to who you like and want others to learn about, and it's an opportunity to meet people all over the world, use ur 140 characters wisely, they can have a life-changing affect on those who are listening. Have fun tweeting, it's as much as you put into your updates.
