Favre and Jordan cut from same clothe

My latest blog is about the media's infatuation with both Brett Favre and Michael Jordan. This is being written on my views of both gentlemen.

First off, Brett Favre, his return, his retirements, and all the drama surrounding him. I mean he is a good quarterback, but last time I checked he has 1 Superbowl ring compared to my quarterback Ben Rothelisberger who in 5 yrs has 2. My problem with Favre centers around the fact his disrespect for his former teams, his disrespect for team he is currently with and the people who are in his corner. Let me unpack these statements. He claims that he is respectful for game, the history of the game, and all that. But, how does this show when he makes Green Bay, who I hate for reason they claim to be one of "America's Team" but that is another matter, anyway Favre disrespects the team that was in his corner for all those many years. He makes them wait on deciding if he is quitting or coming back and disrespects Rodgers his replacement by making him sit through drama of coming back or staying retired.

Then with both Jets and Vikings he again makes them wait and fit themselves into his schedule and way of doing things instead of respectign them and the team they are trying to put together. How is that showing respect for teams and game of football?!? Oh ok, it's not. Selfish and childish, but not respectful.

Now the spectacle of Favre returning to Green Bay to play them is reaching foolish proportions, he is playing his old team, big deal, players have returned to play former teams before. Never as selfishly and self-absorbed as Favre has done, but again big deal.

Now to Jordan, and @GreenyandGolic will hate me, as they have excused Jordan as "Jordan being Jordan" ok, how is being a jerk to former players, opponents and coaches being classy and excusable? Again, oh wait it isn't, Jordan is "ambassador" for the game, but why would you want a classless jerk to represent you to the world. May go back to world's mentality of excusing anything as long as it views you as talented. He is talented, but if you have to have a whole set of rules made up to help you succeed, just how talented and successful are you really? hmmm. Told you that you media types and lovers of Jordan and Favre will probably not like me or what I have to say.

Jordan's missteps are excused as long as people stay in love with him. As is Favre's but what example are we sending to our children and younger impressionable minds, not a good one, to answer my own question. Thank you for reading.
