Glee last night's season premiere...

Insecurities, we all deal with them, figuring out our place in the world, our school, our lives, other people's lives...That seemed to be the theme for last night's Glee episode. I like the life lessons that are available from Glee and Hellcats, don't know if the writers intended these lessons to be learned from their shows or whether it is purely entertainment for the masses, hmmm.

Rachel's insecurity shined through in her desire to not give up the prized solos that came her way, when the new girl she was recruiting for glee turned out to be better or equal to her, in ability to sing and perform, so Rachel sabotaged the girl at every turn, all the while claiming she did it for the team and their "chemistry"

Fin's insecurity shined thru in his inability to figure out his identity aside from being qb on football team, and whether he was anything besides that.

Santana and Quinn's showed in their view of their body's: Santana getting breast augmentation and Quinn's body coming back to amazing from pregnancy of last yr. Quinn reclaimed her position of head cheerleader by pointing out to Coach Sylvester that Santana had plastic surgery and disqualified herself from being leader in cheerios.

Those were just some of the insecurities running through the whole episode and some were resolved, some were wisely allowed to continue to run and will make for an interesting season.
